G.A.R.B.O

G.A.R.B.O (Garbage and Recycling Bin Operator) is an educational game developed for the final project of our course. Based on the Societal Challenges of Europe, specifically Challenge 5, we created a mobile platform game with the theme of recycling and a "drag-and-drop" genre.

When conceptualizing G.A.R.B.O, we knew that since the demographic was dedicated to the "average person," who may or may not recycle, we had to keep the game simple yet fun and informative. We implemented a trivia system that goes beyond the usual when it comes to recycling topics, as well as the option to change the language to English, with the possibility of translating into other languages if necessary.

Regarding the visual style, we opted for something light on the equipment it intends to be played on, using "pixel art" and a "low-poly" environment.

G.A.R.B.O (Garbage and Recycling Bin Operator) é um jogo educativo, desenvolvido para o projeto final do nosso curso. Com base nos Desafios Societais da Europa, mais especificamente o Ponto 5, criámos um jogo para plataformas móveis com o tema de reciclagem e de género “drag-and-drop”. Ao idealizar G.A.R.B.O, sabíamos que pela demográfica ser dedicada à “pessoa comum”, que podia ou não fazer reciclagem, tínhamos de manter o jogo simples, mas divertido e informativo. Implementámos um sistema de curiosidades, que vão além do comum quando se fala no tópico de reciclar, como também a opção de mudar a linguagem para inglês, com possibilidade de traduzir para outras línguas se necessário. Relativamente ao estilo visual, optámos por algo leve no equipamento em que pretende ser jogado, com o uso de “pixel art” e cenário “low poly”
